Foothills Commercial Builders Helps Support TLC Meals on Wheels Through the Colorado Parrot Head Club

Foothills Commercial Builders, Inc. (FCBI) is celebrating their 30th Anniversary this year, and a major focus of this celebration is based on various client and philanthropic events which provide an opportunity to give back to the many communities that FCBI serves. Included was a FCBI employee-donated food drive to support TLC Meals on Wheels, an organization that delivers meals and pet food to those who are disadvantaged or homebound in Centennial, Littleton, Englewood, Sheridan, western Centennial, west Arapahoe County, and southeast Jefferson County.

The donation was timed to be part of a fundraising event called “Party with a Purpose,” held by the Colorado Parrot Head Club, which has collected non-perishable food as well as cash donations for TLC Meals on Wheels for the last two years. The Colorado Parrot Head Club’s members orchestrated all of the details and logistics for the annual music event and silent auction attended by over 200 people this year. The Parrot Head Club is a not-for-profit social club performing community service for the greater good. Members embrace the writings of Jimmy Buffett and the national chapter is called Parrot Heads in Paradise Inc, whose motto is “Party with a Purpose.”

The goal of this year’s event was to raise enough money to support 8 people for an entire year ($1,200 is required to supply meals for one person for a year). The Colorado Parrot Head Club raised over $10,000 and collected a trailer full of food, along with approximately 650 pounds of pet food.  Diane McClymonds, Executive Director of TLC Meals on Wheels attended the event to accept the donation on behalf of the organization.

This year’s event was held on August 20 and featured CMA of Texas Songwriter of the Year Thom Shepherd and Coley McCabe who is an award winning Singer/Songwriter also based in Texas. Shepard is the writer of five #1 singles for other artists -  “Redneck Yacht Club,” recorded by Craig Morgan, “Riding with Private Malone” recorded by David Ball, Kyle Park’s “The Night Is Young,” Josh Abbott and Pat Green’s single, “My Texas,” and Kevin Fowler’s “Beer Season.”

“FCBI is thrilled that our donation will help people who may not have the ability to provide regular meals for themselves,” said Rocky Hollingsworth, President and CEO of Foothills Commercial Builders. “We are proud to have helped the Colorado Parrot Head Club with such a wonderful organization as Meals on Wheels.”
