Bear Valley Veterinary Care Center Relocates and Increases Size
Denver, CO (OPENPRESS) Feb. 21, 2012 - Bear Valley Veterinary Care Center, now located at 2111 S Sheridan Blvd in Denver, Colorado opened their new office to the public on February 1,2012. Dr. Carola Stevenson purchased the building in 2011, and hired Foothills Commercial Builders to convert the facility, which was once a Wachovia Bank, into a veterinary clinic. William “Rocky” Hollingsworth, of Foothills Commercial Builders, and Architect James Fraser, of Olde Tyme Architecture, used their extensive experience in the veterinary field during the design phase of the project, allowing for the 10 week completion of what should have been a 12 week project with no unforeseen challenges. The interior of the building measures 8,400 sq ft in floor space, and the build out included four large exam rooms, a pharmacy, dental tables, comfort room, surgery, and radiology rooms. The new state of the art kennels are limited to the ICU recovery area, but Bear Valley will be adding boarding kennels in the near future. A large tiled reception area is well lit by many windows and skylights, and multiple monitors in the waiting area provide valuable information to clients.
Carola Stevenson, DVM is a native of Colorado, who was born at Swedish Medical Center, graduated high school in Colorado Springs, and completed her BS and DVM degrees at Colorado State University. Stevenson acquired the Bear Valley Veterinary Clinic in 2004, when Dr. William Sherman retired, and then the operation of The Vet in 2008, when Dr. Jay French and Dr. Jim Whipperman retired. Known for their "Small hospital community with large hospital standards," the practice quickly outgrew their 1,600 sq ft leasehold, which led to the endeavor of finding a new building.
Dr. Jennifer Cole has been practicing veterinary medicine in the Denver area since June of 2007, and joined the Bear Valley team in 2009. She received her B.S., as well as her DVM from Colorado State University. Her areas of interest are broad, and include internal medicine and dentistry.
